Gel Abril Again…

Thank you, Gel Abril!

SEGO’s Flu Pagi

SEGO is a Jakarta based Techno & Electronic music act that formed by Andre DunantJim Geovedi, two producers & DJs whom are also members of the Jakarta music collectives called The Smallwonders. Now, they’re back again for this summer hotness releasing three more singles under the label Plus Records Indonesia, which is also Shin Nishimura’s Plus Records sub-label.

After this past few months since last year, they have already shown a major progress in the underground scene. Either it’s for their own group act, or for the industry. These guys are known as one(s) of the most Indonesian’s expected producers that keep on releasing great stuffs. They just seems doesn’t know the word stop.

Bu De’ Dan Pak De’ is a Javanese native language for Elder Aunty & Uncle. This one is kind of dark-ish techno track that you expect to hear in a big room. This tune composed by repetitive drum and basslines, female voice chanting, and quite some distortion and noise. Creepy, but yet again, this one is definitely you wanna hear when it’s coming down if you are a so-called-underground heads.

If you wanna go to a trip this summer, forget London, Los Angeles, or even Maldives. Why don’t go to a Space Trip? It’s easy. Just listen to Flu Pagi. A cosmic journey compiled in seven minutes track, spiced up with spacey and glitch elements on the whole tracks. Flu Pagi is definetely a Techno tune with glimpses of psychedelia on it. Expect paranoia, and be carefull of being deluted. No, just kidding. It’s just a real trippy one.

More energy they give through out Pengkhianatan!, heaps mixture of sound elements, tweaky synths, drooling basslines and experimental noises. Although this track is coming out from a lot different kind mixture of sounds, the melody of this track nailed them all. More up-beat but not losing the sense of it’s rawness. This one is a real floor killer, mind-twisting tune of the time.

Then the honour was given to an anonymous, an artist who hides his true identity behind the Koweasu moniker, on the great remix job for the track Bu De’ Dan Pak De’. His interpretation on the original concept made his version kinda dark-is one of a tune. Imagine your self was sitting stoned at an Amazon sacrificial ceremony, stood still hearing the female priest talking, chanting, and spelling words on people. Maybe, we can just called this one a Techno Voodoo, and Koweasu is your priest. He also made a chill-out downtempo version as an extra for us.
