Coming Back
I’m not a good communicator, just to begin with..
Some label owners and friends been wondering why there’s new material from me or SEGO for the past few months as I haven’t told them that the project has ended. Some EPs released lately, e.g. remixes for Grunjah and Shin Nishimura, were actually done more than 6 months ago. The latest work of me under SEGO is Magic Buffer track that probably will be released by TKC Music by the end of this month. Have to admit, I had a little bit sentimental feeling post the end of SEGO’s project as I haven’t done any work related with music for a while.
But here me now.. coming back. I’ve decided to start doing solo and also secret projects under some aliases. Yes, some aliases.. as I want public can focus enjoying the music not the man or people behind it. Well, being anonymous is nothing new to me, I have done similar thing in my other life as hacker. ;-]
Few weeks ago, I’ve signed an EP to a great techno label from Australia run by the famous DJ Hi-Shock, Elektra Recording. My upcoming release is called Rontok EP. Interesting words from the label about this EP:
New wave of underground techno is here! Dark, tough, funky machine rhythms from Indonesia’s Jim Geovedi. Remember how refreshing techno sounded in the early days of Tresor club 20 years ago? We here at Elektrax finally experience this feeling again! Welcome to techno 2010.
Apart from that EP, I’ve also done some remixes for DJ Hi-Shock and for some other artists at DML. Just check my page at Soundcloud for details.
I also started performing live again and thinking to keep doing it. Performing live is quite challenging and I still need to shape my skills on that. DJing has become boring for me after awhile. Sasha and recently Chris Liebing and Speedy J have changed my opinion on DJing.
I think that’s enough for now. I’ll try to post more in near future.
